Saints drew 0-0 against Dungannon Swifts in the second of their two games in Northern Ireland tonight.

Perth midfielder Jody Morris made his first start after summer hernia surgery and Murray Davidson also featured, having missed out on Tuesday’s game in Lisburn.

There was a second run out for trialist keeper Lubos Hajduck and the Slovakian confidently gripped an early Mickey Ward free-kick swept under the defensive wall from the edge of the area.

A probing Liam Craig cross then picked out a back post run by Kevin Rutkiewicz but the defender’s header squeezed wide as as Saints continued to press Chris Millar spotted an opening but his fierce 25-yarder clipped a defender en route to a corner which was headed over by Michael Duberry.

Keeper Hajduck was a lucky lad in the 23rd minute when he delayed clearing a Duberry back pass. The Slovak allowed lively Swifts centre Timmy Adamson to charge down his clearance bid and had to turn and pounce on the ball before it trundled into the net.

The 36th minute saw Sam Parkin stoop to glance a Danny Grainger cross inches beyond the far post as Saints came close to an opener but the game was goalless at the interval.

Backed by a noisy Perth support, Saints again looked the better side in the second half but the plethora of substitutes meant the team couldn’t find a tempo.

Cleveland Taylor came close four minutes from time, firing inches over the bar after some great footwork and then in stoppage time keeper Hajduck missed a cross and Craig McClean looped a header onto roof of the net when he really should have scored.
