Community coaching - 2010 programme

 

SCOTTISH HYDRO SUPER SKILLS

We are delighted to have Scottish Hydro involved in this programme, which offers regular football sessions to boys and girls throughout Perth and Kinross.

The programme includes:-

SAINTS SOCCER CENTRE AT MCDIARMID PARK (P1 to S2 age)

The Soccer Centre runs each Saturday in Spring and Autumn and is very popular with local boys and girls. There are 3 sessions for the different age groups and the number one priority is fun and enjoyment.  There are lots of chances to score goals on our fantastic fieldturf surface right next to the main stadium.

Times are:-

9.30am – 10.30am (Primary 1 and 2)

10.30am – 11.30am (Primary 3 and 4)

11.30am – 12.30pm (Primary 5, 6, 7 and Secondary 1 and 2)

11.30am -12.30pm  Goalkeeper Training for Primary 5 to Secondary 2 age

SAINTS SOCCER CENTRES AT COUNTY VENUES (P1 to S2 age)

Anyone living outside Perth may find one of the 9 County Centres more suitable. All of our venues run during school terms on weekday evenings in Spring and Autumn offering fun training, games and competitions.

SAINTS SOCCER SEVENS AT MCDIARMID PARK

You can join a Soccer Sevens team and take part in regular games on Mondays between 5pm and 6pm throughout the year  Each session will consist of a brief warm up, followed by a game, where everyone in the squad will get equal playing time and have the opportunity to try out different positions.

SAINTS FOOTBALL FOURS AT MCDIARMID PARK (P1 to P4 age)

This is our first introduction to team play and Football Fours encourages young players to make decisions in a fun, exciting environment.  Sessions are on Wednesdays from 5.00 to 6.00pm.

SAINTS SKILL CENTRE AT MCDIARMID PARK (P4 to P7 age)

Technique practice and small sided games on Thursdays will give you the opportunity to improve your skills and enjoy team play.  Each session includes game related activities and encourages young players to make the right decisions at the right times.

SAINTS GIRLS FOOTBALL AT MCDIARMID PARK (P5 to S2 age)

A mixture of skills training and games for girls only.  Beginners or regular players are welcome to come along on Thursdays. We would love to see more girls involved

ENROLMENT DETAILS

There is no need to pre-book any session within Scottish Hydro Super Skills – just come along at the appropriate time and pay your £2.50 on the day.  You should receive a copy of our information brochure, which includes the relevant application form. You can register at your first session.

All the above activity takes place during spring and autumn as follows:

SCHOOL HOLIDAY FOOTBALL PROGRAMME

There are various courses available to boys and girls during school holidays at Easter, Summer, October and Christmas. Both Easter and Summer Courses require you to book in advance by submitting an application form.

AREA DEVELOPMENT SQUADS

On reaching Secondary School age, players are selected to participate in our Area Development Squad Programme, which consists of two blocks of training sessions on Tuesdays at McDiarmid Park, along with several 11-a-side games.

In 2010, there will be 2 groups, at Under 13 (first year) and Under 14 (second year) and players follow a specially devised training plan to develop the technical, tactical, physical and awareness aspects of the game.

Training sessions are planned as follows:-


Block 1
26th  January to 30th  March      10 sessions

Block 2
24th  August to 5th October          7 sessions
26th October to 30th November   6 sessions

 

SCHOOLS FOOTBALL PROGRAMME

The McDonalds Schools Football Programme offers training and games to 10 different classes in local schools.

This project is designed to encourage both boys and girls to play 7-a-side games and to follow a training programme which promotes a healthy lifestyle and skill development.

Local primaries involved in the first half of 2010 are:-

The Bank of Scotland Soccer One Programme, which is aimed at first year boys and first to third year girls, is also underway and all secondary schools in Perth and Kinross are participating.
